Johannesburg, South Africa - Established in 1984, the Goscor group of companies have grown tenfold with their expanding range of market leading products and services. The Goscor Power Products division recently announced the introduction of their own branded lawnmower engine: the Goshawk 160.
Asked why they decided to introduce their own range of lawnmower engines, Product Manager Justin Kitson replied: "For some time now we´ve been looking to introduce a lawnmower engine specifically designed for reliability in the harsh and often dusty South African conditions. From years of experience we established that the main cause of premature engine failure is normally linked to inadequate air filtration maintenance, so we focussed on this area most in terms of modification. Looking for the most advanced and reliable air filtration systems around, we felt comfortable with what the industry leaders: Donaldson, had to offer us. We firmly believe that their shake clean type filter, using a combination of foam and paper elements, is superior to anything else currently available, hence the modification to existing lawnmower engines to include this type of filter. "
The Donaldson method of air filtering dramatically reduces the intake of dirty air that is synonymous with most other applications that have their filters drawing in dirty air at ground level, resulting in less maintenance in the long run. Other Goshawk 160 SFEV lawnmower specifications are:
